Chief Technology Officer – CTO, Microservices

Are you a Developer or Systems Architect interested in a move into a C-level position?

Are you looking to take a leap with your next role and aim as high as your skills can take you?

An Oxford-based start-up is looking for their Chief Technology Officer as they enter their first round of seed funding. The CTO will join a company that is pegged to make a huge impact in the coming years, moving steadily within a highly regulated market to tackle a core societal problem.

This CTO position is best suited to a Systems Architect or Full Stack Developer who can tackle the challenges of business development alongside delivering high-level software solutions. This CTO position will not be 100% coding, instead you will work alongside suppliers to architect and build on the prototype, and be involved in business development as the proof-of-concept is delivered at the end of 2019.

The Chief Technology Officer will not need to be prescribed to any particular tech stack, and they will set the direction for the stack that the company runs with. The product will exist in a microservice architecture as a progressive web app.

The CTO will:
• See the big picture and set long-term goals
• Be hands-on and interact with the codebase when required
• Liaise well with back and front-end suppliers
• Work alongside the COO and CEO to direct the business development

The CTO will bring:
• A good technical background in any tech stack
• A back-end focus with full-stack experience
• Knowledge of systems architecture and databases
• Excellent communication and ability to enter into business development
• Experience leading external or internal development teams
• An understanding or experience in microservices

The CTO will be offered tailored share options in addition to their base salary, and will see substantial increases in their salary as the company progresses through funding stages.

The offices are based within a 10 minute walk of the Oxford train station, within an hour’s commute of Reading, Banbury, Bicester, Didcot, Swindon, Coventry and Worcester.
