Platform Engineer required to work for a leading global Oil and Gas organisation based in Middlesex for an initial 8 month contract.

Position Summary:
A Platform Engineering Lead works as a senior member within a team to provide custom built or customised IT platforms to colleagues and external users. IT platforms generally support hosting of applications which support revenue earning activity for, or directly provide business functionality in the same vein. Strong themes running throughout platform engineering include automation of manual activity, focus on operational integrity at scale, optimisation of technical resources, and speed to value.

A Lead Platform Engineer works with the team to define vision and maximise value from current technical platforms and emerging technologies, showing technical thought leadership. Collaborates with peers across teams and mentors more junior platform engineers

The role will operate within the Digital Workplace Device portfolio, providing engineering ops/dev support within the Device, Windows & Office services.

Essential Education:
• Has operated in corporate enterprise environments, within the Microsoft End User Compute technology space, with 4+ years’ experience in a relevant role or roles.
• Certification preferable, or proven experience in engineering and operating of Microsoft Windows 10 Operating System, Office, SCCM and Scripting.
• Troubleshooting issues, defects, complex problem solving, design & planning of Change.
• Experienced with client infrastructure integration (ie Active Directory and Cloud-hosted environments)
