What will the key purpose of the Senior Supplier Relationship Manager role be?
• Responsible for the setup of a new commercial arrangement (post-Contract) with a strategic supplier.
• Take contractual agreements and translate into a working governance arrangement covering:
o contract performance,
o governance structures,
o ensuring adherence to key policies,
o abilty to resolve key relationship issues across a multi-disciplined stakeholder community,
o creation & agreement of an exit plan,
o documentation of Sysc 8 adherence
• Administer the relationship for the initial period
o Ensure inputs to and outputs from governance meetings are appropriate quality, participate in governance forums as a key stakeholder.
o Ensure adherence to contract terms.
o Monitor SLA and KPI reporting,
o Manage expenditure on supplier, including validating invoices and application of service credits.
o Manage and resolve escalations.
o Formal reporting on supplier performance, over and above that provided by the supplier
o Identify opportunities to deliver additional value into the organisations supply chain.
o Build & maintain effective working relationships with the supplier
• Hand over the SRM activities to the permanent employee picking up running the service
What key skills & experience does the Senior Supplier Relationship Manager need to have:
Technical Knowledge and Skills
Contract Management - understanding contract law sufficiently to be able to identify risks, gaps and opportunities and to be able to ensure supplier delivery to the required quality. Understanding of contract negotiation and contract management best practice
Supply Chain management – understanding the supply chain specific to the business, their importance and their impact on the business. Understanding of supplier governance and its implementation for different agreements/services.
Risk management – knowledge of key policies, procedures as they relate to the supply chain
Comprehensive experience of managing strategic supplier relationships
