My client are a global technology firm who are seeking a talented Principal Desktop Support Engineer to join their team in Oxford.

The DaaS Specialist Engineer will be involved in a major Networking and End User Computing (EUC) transformation programme and shifting from on premise infrastructure to cloud based services (AWS, Azure). The Systems Engineer will have a background in desktop engineering and the ability to design and implement End User Computing technology including Windows 10 and O365.

The Senior Desktop Support Engineer should have the following experience:

Significant IT experience (10+ years relevant work experience ideally) with at least 5 years engineering of EUC technologies – Windows 10, O365, Skype4Business, Zoom etc.
Excellent technical skills and experience gained from working within complex Desktop, Mobile and Application infrastructure projects, this covers devices, mobile, desktops and MACs.
Worked at enterprise scale – 1000’s of end users
Ability to deliver results from technical specs
Automation with desktop applications, packaging and software releases
You are a problem solver
General understanding of security
Worked in a global organisation with teams all over the world
Positive, team player with ability to mentor on a technical level
The Principal Desktop Support Engineer needs the following technical skills:

A high level of competency is required across as many of the following as possible.

Windows 10 desktop platform, including management of corporate images using MDT and SCCM.
Experience of designing and implementing Infrastructure (VDI) platforms and preferably cloud-based Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS).
Knowledge of application delivery techniques including packaging
Good understanding of general Microsoft technologies
Experience of integrating large heterogeneous environments that include Windows and OS X file systems, desktops, laptops and mobile devices.
Good knowledge of tracking assets and deploying patches or software using System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)
Good working knowledge of PowerShell
Experience of security technologies and strategies
Working knowledge of O365, Skype for Business and OneDrive for client devices.
Good experience with MDM technologies and how these are used to manage corporate and personal devices, preferably using Microsoft Intune.
The following desirable skills would be beneficial to the DaaS Engineer:

Knowledge of Windows Server 2012/2016 and related infrastructure
Experience of public and private cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS
Good knowledge of tracking assets and deploying software using Jamf Pro for Apple Mac
Experience of BYOD strategies and deployment approaches that ensure corporate data remains secure and devices are compliant with company standards
Experience with industry standard monitoring tools such as System Center Operations Manager (SCOM).
Ideal Certifications for the Cloud Engineer to have:

Microsoft MSCE certification in relevant disciplines.
ITIL Intermediate level
