Programme Manager, Public Sector, Agile, GDS, JY/4838

A Programme Manager is required for my Public Sector client in Swindon. This is a 6 month contract paying up to £600 per day. The Programme Manager will work within the Project Management Office (PMO), leading a cross-functional team responsible for the overall digital service programme. The Programme Manager will work closely with stakeholders to ensure interfaces and dependencies between systems and projects are managed effectively.

As a Programme Manager, your key responsibilities will be:

• Day-to-day management of programme throughout the full lifecycle including GDS assessment(s) and handover to BAU, managing to a PRINCE2 Agile framework
• Management of Stakeholders to define project scope and objectives; addressing issues with senior stakeholders ensuring they are fully engaged and able to support delivery
• Leadership of multi-disciplined teams, both internal and third party, to achieve programme deliverables in line with the agreed roadmap
• Stakeholder identification and management, including regular, appropriate and timely communications throughout the projects
• Ownership of programme plans, work stream definitions and packages, RAID logs, and highlight reports
• Accountable for project budget
• Delivery of process improvements delivering resource efficiencies within the organisation

The Programme Manager will ideally bring the following skills and experience:

• Running programmes using agile and waterfall combined
• Working on a GDS compliant service and GDS assessments
• Working on digital services in an agile environment
• Achieving results through influencing skills rather than direct control
• Managing multiple stakeholders demands and priorities
• Significant experience of managing projects and supporting cross functional teams delivering process improvements into operations
• Managing cross functional dependencies with multiple stakeholders
• Appropriate certifications of use of PRINCE2 and Agile approaches are essential
• Suitable experience or a Degree level qualification
