Project Manager Required to work on a 12 month contract for a leading Global financial solutions company being predominantly based in Edinburgh with travel to London and Amsterdam!

The Project Manager (PM) shall be accountable for the successful delivery of the client projects. The PM will coordinate and oversee the project stages and ensure the project team is meeting delivery dates and objectives.

The PM will also create & maintain project plans and budgets for each project. Additionally the PM shall provide on demand and schedule project updates to internal and external parties. The PM is also responsible for ensuring the documented project process is adhered to and the day to day tasks carried out by the project team.

The PM shall work on both internal and external (client) projects gathering requirements and defining the functionality required. The PM shall liaise with the Development Director and Technical Delivery Manager where appropriate to ensure the successful delivery and handover between project and development teams.

The PM shall be knowledgeable in a number of different functional/business areas and shall use this expertise to support the project work and build relationship and trust with clients.

As part of the sales process, the PM may be involved in supporting the sales prospects where their knowledge is applicable.

The PM shall report to the Program Manager from a line management perspective and the relevant Office Manager for local matters.

Knowledge and Experience
Experience of working in a team on IT projects.
Experience of working with financial markets applications, ideally with exposure to both real-time and also database transaction processing applications.
5 + years of Enterprise level Application development with experience both as a hands on programmer and software development manager.
5+ years of experience managing multiple teams with interactions across multiple, geographically dispersed sites.

5+ years of managing contract vendors including contract definition and review, vendor score-carding, RFI/RFP processes and ongoing vendor relationship management.
