Application Support Analyst is required to work on a 6 month contract based in Manchester for a Large global Investment bank.





Job Description: Global File Transfer Services (GFTS) - Operations



GFTS Operations: Global File Transfer Services (GFTS) provide managed file transfer support to the client’s enterprise. The team is responsible for troubleshooting file transfer related incidents in partnership with internal application support and when required, external clientele. Targeted resource must be able to provide technical guidance and possess strong troubleshooting skills in all core file transfer and network disciplines. Required Skillsets: SME product knowledge of BizManager (OpenText), Sterling File Gateway (IBM), Connect:Direct (IBM), Connect:Enterprise (IBM) and Sterling Control Center (IBM), Strong support knowledge of file transfer protocols (e.g. SFTP, HTTPS, AS2, FTPS) and encryption types (e.g. PGP), Centralized monitoring, automation and service level alerting, Ability to perform technical troubleshooting and problem investigations, Working knowledge of z/OS, Unix, Linux, Windows, BMC Remedy. Desired Skillsets: Working knowledge of network topologies, connectivity methods and load-balancer/proxy solutions, JCL and Shell scripting



My ideal candidate would have these skillsets:



- SME product knowledge of BizManager (OpenText), Sterling File Gateway (IBM), Connect:Direct (IBM), Connect:Enterprise (IBM) and Sterling Control Center (IBM)

Strong support knowledge of file transfer protocols (e.g. SFTP, HTTPS, AS2, FTPS) and encryption types (e.g. PGP)



Centralized monitoring, automation and service level alerting

Ability to perform technical troubleshooting and problem investigations

Working knowledge of z/OS, Unix, Linux, Windows

BMC Remedy



Desired Skillsets:

Working knowledge of network topologies, connectivity methods and load-balancer/proxy solutions



JCL and Shell scripting

With emphasis on the first two bullet points.



Strong technical knowledge - UNIX, Windows File transfer experience - IBM/Bizlink/Connect Incident management Encryption
